Giving Thanks to the Most High!
The closing celebration of the 3rd Annual Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF) 2004 is our "Kingdom Building through Media" event on Sunday, October 24, 2004, 3:00-7:00 p.m., at Lab 601 Digital Post, at 621 North Avenue, NE, Atlanta, Georgia. During this event, we will give honor to the Most High for a successful 2004 festival, and showcase independent films that are positive and uplifting, as well as a "Creative Positive Media" discussion. We're thankful for each person that attends the UMFF 2004, and we ask the Most High to rain down abundant blessings on the attendees as they pursue their dreams courageously! Winning Lisa (Atlanta, GA) Sometimes love is a roller coaster ride. When is it time to get off? This is a love story about two people trying to find their way back together through spiritual growth, forgiveness and redemption. Nikki Young, Writer, Director and Producer. (50min) I Can Run: The Jeremy Lee Williams Story (Norcross, GA) This is the story of a 12-year-old boy who is living life to the fullest despite being born with Cerebral Palsy. (RT: 5:30min) Soldiers for the Streets (Toronto, Ontario Canada) Ras King and his comrades live, rap and breathe a philosophy self-empowerment and political awareness. Through persistence, action and their hip hop lyrics they preach racial pride, political activism and self-respect to their community and surrounding neighborhoods. Ngardy Conteh, Director. (20 min) SPIC: The Storyboard of My Life (Jersey City, NJ) An award winning illustrator narrates stories while he draws.
