Urban Mediamakers Raises Money To Offer Grants Helping Creatives Whose Livelihoods Have Been Impacted by COVID-19
On March 24, 2020, U.S. government passed a $2 Trillion stimulus package in response to the new coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic . This stimulus package provides:
- One-Time $1,200 Payment to Most Adults (Taxpayers), $500/Child
- Four Months of Unemployment Insurance instead of Three Paying Your Entire (Nearly Entire) Salary
- $130 Billion Hospitals
- $150 Billion State and Local Governments
- $350 Billion Small Business
- $500 Billion Corporations
While we are happy the stimulus provides help to corporations, state/local governments, hospitals and some small businesses, we know there are millions of independent creatives and contractors who will be left out of this bailout.
As a 501(c)3, non-profit, charitable organization, Urban Mediamakers will support working creatives and independent contractors in Georgia by providing unrestricted cash grants through the Creatives Relief Fund to support creatives and independents with:
- Rent/mortgage payments
- Pet supplies
- Other living expenses.
- Lost wages and earnings;
- Medical expenses;
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and selected weekly. These one-time grants range from $250-$2,500 based on the creative’s needs.
We need your donations to fund this relief program – any amount is greatly appreciated. Please make a donation today!
